Supportive Education

A Neuro-Inclusive
Community

at Mosaic Pathways
Environment

As a collaborative community of learning, we value co-creating with nature, retreating inward to search for guidance, and leaning on our community at heart. We respect and support autonomy by listening, having flexibility, and building connections to support individuality.

Students are supported to help balance their systems. It may be stepping aside to provide quiet support and space, taking a walk in nature, breathing into the heart space, or switching to a new and different activity.

Who Benefits?

Students and families aligned to creating a new model of learning and living in an expanded way, open to all potentials and possibilities.

We value an inclusive community who are open to integrating all that is. Individualized supports may require a collaborative solution with family and community.

Trusting our "I AM" and All That Is.

Presume Competence

To presume competence is to acknowledge that all individuals are capable and valued.

Learning happens everywhere, especially when you least expect it! Participation is unique and individualized. Providing opportunities of learning that activates the heart can lead students to a love of self-led learning.

To presume competence is to

respect and value human diversity

Communication

An inclusive approach to communication values student preference.

Spoken language is one form of

communication. Music, movement, text based, and telepathy are other wonderful examples of communication.

For social skill development, we use nonviolent communication, declarative language, and listening of the heart (being in silent present moment awareness) to support social skill development.

Brain-Body Connection

"Behaviors" or dysregulation are an indication of how individuals are perceiving situations in their body and brain. Brain-Body Connection is an individual's entire nervous system.

By recognizing their inner reality - the sensory experiences, feelings, and emotions can be met with love, compassion, and understanding.

Co-Regulation

Recognizing emotional sensations in the physical body allows the individual an opportunity to be with the feeling and seek information from within...and appreciating the awareness.

For individuals with sensory differences and/or anxiety, co-regulation support can help bring a sense of safety.
